Hush

I had one of those "What do you have to lose?" moments when I emailed Sylvia Long, award winning children's book artist/author. I asked her if I could record her delightful lyrics that she had rewritten for Brahms' classic lullaby. The original words never felt right to me as the mother promises endless gifts in an effort to soothe and pacify the baby. I even stopped singing the song to my children until I found her refreshing take—engaging the baby instead with natural wonders and beauties. Thank you Sylvia for your inspired rendition, generosity and for really reading your fan mail.

The oh-so-talented guitarist, Brandon Kitterman and I had so much fun rescoring this classic to fit my style.

"I am singing a lullaby and need private time,"

Ella Sophia Dunford (age 2) said to her aunt before climbing up to the piano to accompany herself.
