Elizabeth's Bio

Elizabeth vs. Snow White. Elizabeth Stewart Dunford was about seven when she watched Snow White charm the birds as she sang. Elizabeth didn't doubt for a moment that if she could sing as sweetly as Snow White, she too could have birds flock to her. After many failed attempts with the birds over the years, Elizabeth is still singing.

While studying voice, piano and harp she had leading roles in her school musicals as well as professional theaters throughout her hometown of Salt Lake City.

Pursuing her music degree on scholarship at the University of Utah, she relished performing throughout Europe and Asia. She also enjoyed singing under the direction of Dr. Barlow Bradford with the Utah Chamber Artists. She appreciated the fact that Dr. Bradford would never let the sopranos' vibratos get out of control.

Elizabeth attributes her love of music to God and to her parents, Michael and Betty Lou Stewart. They provided many opportunities to develop and stimulate her talents—despite the fact that as a child she used ingenious ways to avoid practicing. She sometimes skipped practicing by recording her previous practice sessions and just pushing play on the tape recorder while she sat in front of the TV watching the "A" Team.

Michael, Elizabeth's husband, has been unconditionally loving and supportive throughout their 10+years of marriage. She currently is pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts and lives near Boston with their three children. She hopes that their little ones don't get any ideas from reading the bit about how to avoid practicing.

Elizabeth feels fortunate to have collaborated on this project with these brilliant musicians who master their instruments.
